Waqf throughout the country and the resources they can generate Waqf can become a strong instrument not only for the preservation of religious, charitable and philanthropic institutions but also for the educational and economic development of the community.
The term Waqf denotes an endowment which is to be used solely for the purposes recognized under Islamic Law as pious, religious or charitable. Such an endowment which usually is a property, is managed by an administrator called mutawalli. The term ‘Mutawalli’ includes, a committee of management.
